Periodical Services
It is to put magazines, newspapers, reports, statistics, etc. in printed and electronic environment into service.
Periodicals collection is formed and developed by means of purchasing, donation, and exchange.
The purpose is to put the periodicals into service of the users in a certain order, in the latest and fastest way.
After its technical procedure is completed, a periodical that come to our library is put to PERIODICALS section in the library in alphabetical order and in accordance with open shelf system. When the binding process of the publications with binder unity is completed, they are put into service in BOUND PERIODICALS section. All these procedures are carried out by professional librarians.
The periodicals can be borrowed for a duration of 7 days, however, the latest issues are not loaned in order not to lose their currency and provide all the readers to utilize them.The Bound Journals can be borrowed for a duration of 21 days.
As of 2012, there are 202 printed, 4 electronic, 11 newspaper totally 217 academic and magazine periodicals in Psychology, History, Geography/Anthropology, Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Law, Education, Music, Fine Arts, Language and Literature, Medicine, Technology and Marine. 102 of these periodicals are in Turkish, 98 of them are in English, 8 of them are in German, 5 of the are in French and 4 of them are in Italian.
In order to increase the scope of Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI), the content page of the current issues of the attached periodicals will be sent by e-mail to the readers who request this.
