Izmir Universities Platform (IUP)

Established as a first in Turkey in December 2008, the "Izmir Universities Platform" was initiated to foster academic, social, cultural, and sports-related collaboration among higher education institutions in Izmir and to position Izmir as a "University City" by developing various projects. After taking a brief break from its activities in 2016, the Izmir Universities Platform resumed its operations as of January 2019.

Since its establishment, the Izmir Universities Platform has been working on numerous initiatives, such as enabling students from member universities to conduct joint scientific studies, implementing student and faculty exchange programs among these universities, ensuring the efficient use of resources, and contributing to Izmir through collaboration with local governments, central administrations, professional chambers, non-governmental organizations, and other institutions, particularly on issues concerning universities or students.
